Located in the CBD, the new state-of-the-art headquarters for South Australia Police (SAPOL) provides 12,000 square metres of office accommodation and basement car parking. The 10-storey building is an energy efficient 5 star Green Star rated office building, with open plan office space and expansive views of the eastern suburbs and the Adelaide Hills.

The 40 metre high building is the biggest police-building project in SA’s history to date. Construction included one of Adelaide’s largest concreting footing pours in decades, with 1,400 cubic metres poured in just 9 hours.

Saccardo Constructions managed the usual challenges associated with working in a CBD environment while still maintaining emergency vehicle access through the site to the adjacent SA Metropolitan Fire Service Headquarters. Having our own mobile concrete pumps and a large workforce enabled us to be flexible with the timing of concrete pours, contributing to the early completion of the project.
