Situated adjacent to Adelaide’s stunning Botanic Garden, the National Wine Centre of Australia provides world class interpretive, educational and entertainment facilities, representing every wine region of Australia.

The Centre leads visitors on an exciting and dynamic interactive journey through the Australian wine industry, making it a must-see attraction for anyone captivated by the mystique of wine and its production.

Opened in late 2001, the centre provides a local and international focus for an industry, which continues to grow as a major source of export earnings and prestige for Australia.

The centre provides tangible evidence, both in architecture and content, of what sets the Australian wine industry apart.

The construction of this showpiece tourist centre required contractors with very special capabilities and once more Saccardo Constructions was the successful company for the foundations, floor slabs and polished toppings on this prestigious project.

The complexity of the structure requiring hundreds of construction drawings and over 12 months of construction would have severely taxed any other contractor.

Saccardo’s full time site foreman with backup from Saccardo’s head office easily handled the many construction difficulties and quality requirements.

Quality was of paramount importance to the client as many thousands of overseas visitors were expected to visit this centre.
