Liberty Towers

The 14,000 cubic meters, 43,000 square meter building presented a unique challenge which Saccardo Constructions relished in meeting.

Released off the plan in February 2002,Liberty Towers saw record sales of 60 million in just the first day. This 12 storey apartment building capitalises on the boom in Glenelg beachside property.

Baulderstone Hornibrook had chosen a top down and up construction system. This involved construction in two directions (up and down) simultaneously. The sequence allowed the 4 levels of basement car-park to be constructed downwards as the super structure was also being erected upwards.

Saccardo Constructions meet this challenge by having effectively two separate work forces with our contract administrator co-ordinating closely with the builders site management.

Over three hundred separate concrete pours, performed over 18 months were need for all the basement slabs, columns, lift shaft walls and floor slabs. The ability to dedicate our Boom pump exclusively to the project ensured that when a concrete element was ready to be poured we placed it without delay.
